Sorting

The original goods are sorted into different qualities (½ down, ¾ down, feathery down, down) using a three-chamber sorting machine.

The sorting machine is based on a simple system: a flow of air causes the lightest element, the down, to fly furthest (to the third chamber) whilst the heaviest element, the long feathers, only fly as far as the first chamber.

By adjusting the strength of the airflow, different qualities with different percentages of down can be produced for the customers.
